Guar

Guar is an annual plant that reaches 0.6 to 1 m in height, with erect stems, large leaves and clusters of pods. It is planted after the monsoon in June or July and harvested in December. It is a short-lived plant that is harvested within 3-4 months after sowing.

Guar, also called guar, is a galactomannan.It is mainly endosperm from ground guar seeds. To obtain guar gum, guar seeds are peeled, ground and sieved. It is usually present as a loose, light, whitish powder, coarsely or finely ground.
